Maryam Nawaz E-Bus Programme has approved a grand scheme under which 1,500 electric buses will be operated across the province. The aim of this scheme is to provide modern, clean, and comfortable travel facilities to the people so that these eco-friendly buses will replace the old smoke-emitting vehicles.

When these buses come on the roads, people will be able to travel easily, comfortably, and at a low cost, and pollution will also be reduced. This scheme is an important step towards making Punjab clean and developed.

 Cities Included in the E-Buses Programme
The government will roll out the electric bus project in phases, prioritizing major urban centers:

Phase 1: 380 E-Buses to Hit the Roads in Lahore and Gujranwala

📍 Lahore — Lahore, a busy and large city in Punjab, will be the first to introduce electric buses 🚍⚡ on the roads, setting an example of clean and modern transport.

🏭 Gujranwala — The industrial city of Gujranwala is also included in the first phase of this project so that the working people 👷‍♂️ and ordinary citizens 🚶‍♀️ can get better and more comfortable travel facilities.

⏳ Deadline — These buses are planned to be put into service by June 2024 📅.
